Female reproductive factors are associated with objectively measured physical activity in middle-aged women

Physical activity improves health and may delay the onset of several chronic diseases. For women in particular, the rate of these diseases accelerates at middle age; therefore it is important to identify the determinants of health-enhancing physical activity during midlife in this population. In this study, we focused on determinants that are unique to the female sex, such as childbearing and menopause. The main objective was to characterize the level of physical activity and differences between active and inactive middle-aged Finnish women. Psychometric properties and factor structure of the Satisfaction with Life Scale in an elderly Portuguese retirees students sample

El objetivo principal de este estudio ha sido analizar las propie- dades psicométricas de la escala de Satisfacción con la Vida (SWLS) en una muestra de 363 estudiantes jubilados pertenecientes a varias universidades portuguesas. El 70% de los participantes eran mujeres frente a un 30% de hombres, con una media de edad de 67 años (SD = 7.59) y un rango de edad comprendido entre 48 y 90 años. Previous studies showed that higher sensory variety in weaning period can later influence infant's acceptance of new food. On the one hand, a choice situation gives an individual a sense of freedom, autonomy and control over the environment, which triggers higher intrinsic motivation and higher satisfaction (Deci and Ryan, 1985). Transparency reduces predator detection in mimetic clearwing butterflies
